Purpose & Divine Calling
This fast is designed to humble ourselves before God, invite His manifest presence, and seek transformation of personal life, community, and land—similar to historical revivals that have changed nations.
Through three distinct phases, we'll move from personal alignment to intercession for others, and finally to welcoming God's glory and commissioning for His purposes.
Essential Preparation Steps
01
Repentance & Cleansing
Confess sins, forgive others, release bitterness and unforgiveness from your heart.
02
Choose Your Fast
Select full, partial (Daniel Fast), liquids, or selective abstention based on your leading.
03
Set Prayer Focus
Write down specific revival goals for personal holiness, family unity, church renewal, and land restoration.
04
Seek Community Unity
Encourage corporate alignment with church, family, or intercession group where possible.
Daily Rhythm in His Glory
Maintaining a consistent daily rhythm will help you stay focused and intentional throughout your fast. Here's a suggested structure for each day:
1
Morning
Worship, scripture meditation, dedication of the day
2
Midday
Intercession for assigned focus (personal, family, community)
3
Evening
Thanksgiving, journal reflections, corporate or family prayer time
4
All Day
Humility, silence before God, acts of kindness & reconciliation
Week 1: Personal Alignment & Consecration
The first week focuses on removing hindrances to the manifest Presence of God in your own life. This foundation of personal cleansing prepares the way for deeper intercession and revival.
Days 1-2
Personal repentance and cleansing (Psalm 51, 1 John 1:9)
Days 3-4
Surrender habits, idols, hidden sin (Joshua 3:5, Hebrews 12:1)
Days 5-6
Forgiveness – release offenses, reconcile relationships (Matthew 6:14-15)
Day 7
Covenant renewal – dedicate body, mind, and spirit for holiness
"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me." - Psalm 51:10
Week 1: Detailed Journey
Days 1-2: Personal Repentance
Begin with honest confession before God. Use Psalm 51 as a guide for thorough repentance. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal areas of compromise or sin that need addressing.
Days 3-4: Surrender
Identify and surrender habits, idols, and hidden sins that compete with God for your affection. Joshua 3:5 reminds us to "consecrate ourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you."
Days 5-7: Forgiveness & Personal Revival
Release offenses, reconcile relationships where it is possible and renew your personal covenant with God dedicating your life fully and completely Him.
Be sure and journal daily6
Week 2: Intercession for Others
The second week expands your focus to standing in the gap for others. Having aligned your own heart with God, you now intercede for family, church, and community.
1
Day 8
Family restoration, protection, salvation (Joshua 24:15)
2
Days 9-10
Church revival – pastors, leaders, unity, holiness
3
Days 11-12
Community intercession – repentance for corruption, injustice
4
Days 13-14
Healing prayers over land and celebration worship
Week 2 Intercession Focus
Day 8: Family Focus
Pray specifically for each family member by name. Claim Joshua 24:15 - "As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." Intercede for salvation, protection, healing of relationships, and spiritual growth.
Days 9-10: Church Revival
Lift up church leaders, pray for unity among believers, and ask for a fresh outpouring of holiness. Focus on Jesus' prayer in John 17:21 that "they all may be one."
Days 11-12: Community Transformation
Follow Daniel's example by confessing corporate sins - corruption, injustice, bloodshed, and idolatry. Stand in the gap for your city and nation.
Week 3: Welcoming the Glory
The final week focuses on inviting God's manifest glory to transform and remain. Having prepared through personal alignment and intercession, we now seek the outpouring of His Spirit.
Days 15-16: Holy Spirit Outpouring
Cry out for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2, Joel 2:28)
Day 17: Signs & Wonders
Pray for signs, wonders, and miracles that confirm the Word (Mark 16:20)
Days 18-19: Mission Consecration
Consecrate for mission—ask God to send laborers (Isaiah 6:8, Matthew 9:37-38)
Days 20-21: Worship & Covenant
Worship, spiritual warfare, and covenant dedication
Types of Fasting
Choose the type of fast that aligns with your physical capabilities and spiritual leading. Remember that the purpose is spiritual breakthrough, not legalistic achievement.
Full Fast
Abstaining from all food and drinking only water. Some may be led to a complete fast from both food and water for very short periods (no more than 3 days) with medical supervision.
Daniel Fast
Based on Daniel 1 and 10, this partial fast involves eating only fruits, vegetables, and water, avoiding meats, sweets, processed foods, and beverages other than water.
Liquid Fast
Consuming only liquids such as water, juices, and broths. This provides some nutrition while still maintaining a significant level of physical sacrifice.
Selective Fast
Abstaining from specific items like social media, entertainment, or certain foods. This can be appropriate for those with medical conditions that prevent food restriction.
Biblical Foundations
Personal Transformation
"Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you." - Joshua 3:5
"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me." - Psalm 51:10
Corporate Revival
"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." - 2 Chronicles 7:14
Spiritual Breakthrough
"And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication." - Zechariah 12:10
"I will pour out my Spirit on all people." - Joel 2:28
Your Journey Begins
"The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house," says the LORD Almighty. "And in this place I will grant peace." - Haggai 2:9
As you embark on this 21-day journey, remember that fasting is not about earning God's favor but positioning yourself to receive what He already desires to give. The manifest glory of God is not just for biblical times—it's for today, for your life, your family, your church, and your community.
May this fast be a catalyst for lasting transformation and the beginning of a sustained revival that touches every area of your influence.
